How to pack a suitcase in 15 minutes?
You know when you’re going on a trip, and you’re so excited, and you sit down and make list after detailed list of every item you’re going to have to pack? and how to pack a suitcase in 15 minutes? Finally, when you pack that suitcase mentally, you think of all potential requirements. But in actual, it’s just too heavy! (‘heaviest – suitcase – ever – ALERT!). Then you fight with the people for overhead space and wait for, like EVER, for the baggage claim. Oh, not to forget, you have to drag it around, disrupting all the careful and neat fold you spent hours doing. And for what? You didn’t even use half the stuff you packed! And if not that, you try to ponder and remove whatever possible, waste precious time, make mistakes, miss flights and experience frazzled last minute errands, stressing and wearing the adventurer out long before jetting off.
Not anymore! To expedite your packing practices, here are seven steps to follow to pack your suitcase in 15 minutes.
You must choose your luggage appropriate to the destination you’re visiting. Simply hopping to the neighbouring state does not call for hauling an extra – large travel bag. On the other hand, if you wish to head overseas, more than a tiny daypack is usually advised. Versatility can be added by selecting a medium – sized luggage bag which can easily convert from a wheeling suitcase to a backpack and vice versa. With a holding volume of 65 litres, it is the perfect combination of durable and lightweight. It can be hoisted on your shoulder as a backpack, or alternatively converted by pulling the handle up for a grab-and-go roller bag. It is small enough to be labelled as an airplane carry – on, and at the same time, big enough to hold shoes, clothes and toiletries enough for several days away from home.
2. Keep Regulation – Size bottles handy
Simply to avoid the last – minute scrambling for finding miniature toiletries at the drugstore (high chances you’ll not find your preferred products anyway!), use airline approved 3 – ounce travel bottles. Buying a custom travel bottle set is highly advised. You can refill these with your favourite body wash, conditioner and shampoo. Make a combination of essentials including these bottles, toothpaste, toothbrush and razor, and leave these under the bathroom sink. When there’s a need to pack in a rush, simply grab this pre-prepared bag and toss it into your bag. Seems like you got more time to look for budget hotel online booking, now!
3. Investing in a multi – season jacket is not a bad idea either!
Why not add a staple fleece outer layer or zip – up sweatshirt to your closet? Smartwool hoodies made using traceable Merino wool can also last you for years. With higher thread counts, these are suitable for the chiller temperatures yet, are breathable. These release heat when it is not required by your body. Such a solid piece guarantees warmth and you do not need to compromise on valuable space in the suitcase by needing to pack more than one.
4. Slow Down a Little…
Yes, even we spent years of chronic over – packing and ending up wearing only half of what we carry, but no more. It is rather better to devote a minute or two of critical ‘thinking time’ to consider the events to attend and the climate. This, must be followed by a drill of packing only the essentials and never doubling up clothing. If you’re in the beach mode, one swimsuit, usually does the trick. On the other hand, if regular runs and walks are your thing, only one set of workout clothes is really necessary. Both can be hung to dry at night.
5. Don’t skip on the double duty clothes!
You men out there can invest in a pair or comfortable, trendy sneakers that can work well for pub hopping, at the hotel gym or for a casual walking tour. Women can grab a well – cut dress in darker hues to easily transition from the work look to a night out (oh yes, a statement belt and dramatic earrings go a long way in playing the trick!).
6. Know how and when to roll ‘em up!
Clothes like tees, boxers, socks and workout gear can be rolled and easily organized inside packing boxes. Sweaters and suits however call for polite folding drills to keep them from wrinkling, getting stretched out and bunching out of shape.
7. Essentials Calling!
You can easily manage without a third pair of jeans, but not without seeing. Don’t forget to toss in an extra pair of glasses or contact lenses. Same is the case with your chargers and prescription medication. Well, here’s the most important item, don’t forget your passport when flying across borders! We’ve all been there when we have reached the airport only to realize that we left our passport in the cupboard drawer. Missing a trip only because you forgot the essential paperwork home, or finding yourself halfway without a critical item in your bag is such a kill joy.
In order to stay organized, keep a checklist of necessary items handy, when packing. You can even carry it with your luggage or with the travel – friendly toiletry kit for between trip packing. When you don’t have to spend too much time packing, you can easily look for discounts on hotels or things to do and places to visit.
